Our little nephew

Look at my darling little nephew, Landon! We can't wait to meet him over Labor Day weekend. From the pictures, he is a great blend between my sister and my brother-in-law.

Grandma and Grandpa's house

Yesterday, we went to Grandma Cheri's and Grandpa Bob's house because my step-sister and her family were in town. There were 9 kids there, ranging from 13 years to 11 months. Madeline loved playing with all of her cousins and getting spoiled from her grandparents.

At this age, it seems like there are less and less "firsts." But, we had lots yesterday.

1) First time that Madeline had pop in her sippy cup. My dad just loves to get a rise out of us. He tried to argue that Sunkist was really orange juice.... When Grandpa conceded and tried to get the sippy cup back, she refused and ran away, trying to protect her special pop.
2) First time that Madeline saw a Rated R movie. Grandma and the boys were watching the movie Jaws (!). Grandma Cheri says that she took her out of the room during the bad part and did a good job of explaining why they had to leave (i.e. because people were going to die). Fortunately, even though Maddie told me later she was scared of the TV because of the sharks, she doesn't appear to have long-term effects.
3) First time that she had a milk dud. "Madeline, what is in your mouth?" "A milk dud." It was cute (and a lot of work for her to chew!).

Cousin Landon is here!

Aunt Katie and Uncle Albie had their baby today! Welcome to the world, cousin Landon! He weighed exactly the same as Madeline (9.0 lbs), so us Schwartz girls are consistent with the big babies. It sounds like everyone is doing great, and we're so anxious to meet him over Labor Day.

My sister deserves a medal. She started having contractions on Wednesday night, and didn't have the baby until over 4 days later at 2 a.m. or so this morning. Poor thing! But, she has an amazing attitude and made it through with flying colors, so we're all happy the labor is over for her...
